The world we live in today is more exciting than it has ever been. Times are a changing, faster, faster, faster yet. New technologies, new ideas, new systems of organization, new platforms to build upon, new modes of life and behavior and survival mechanisms emerge at an increasing rate, and novelty permeates our day to day lives. Who can tell us what’s around the corner? Some people even view death and aging as diseases that can one day be cured. The possibilities are endless, yet this gives me no measure of assurance of a secure and happy future. My worries often work themselves up to a state of panic. I am in my mid-20s, I do not see it being possible by the time that I am 70, I could have aged gracefully, I could have lived a fulfilling life with wisdom which I could pass down to the next generation, I do not feel that it is possible for me to die happy because the turbulent world constantly swirling and changing in front of my eyes scares me, I don’t know what to do.
So I have decided to write. I have feelings, and opinions, messages, and warnings, and all sorts of thoughts and hypotheses and projections which I would like to share with the world. But most importantly, what I want above anything else, is a dialogue of discussion between thinking minds, between beating hearts, between human souls. They’re almost 7,000,000,000 people in the world today, for those of us who have a chance to break away from the daily struggle of survival and have the luxury of thinking about world problems, let’s sit down on a regular basis to think and discuss and review the past present, and make some sense out of what the future holds. While we may not be able to predict the future, we must always be ready to adapt to changing times as they come. Let’s create a framework of understanding, consensus, and readiness against all that may come.
